The Porticciolo and Capolungo village
They are the extremes of the Promenade and represent the precious clips of this special "jewel".
The ancient harbour (Porticciolo) is the historical hearth of Nervi: the colourful houses, the small beach and the boats lie between two rocks, with the castle on a side and the college on the other.
Here an important part of the sport and society life of Nervi takes place: far from traffic, it is possible to meet and watch a water polo match, to plunge into the swimming pool or to go by boat or canoe. In summer, excursions by boat to Portofino, S. Fruttuoso, Camogli and the Cinque Terre are organised.
At midday and in the evening pubs and small restaurants offer the best of Ligurian cooking, of course together with fish dishes.
At the end of the Promenade, Capolungo is a small village with houses built on the rocks and a panoramic view on the cliff and on the parks of the villas on the sea.
From this peaceful and cosy corner it is possible to go up to the Luxoro villa passing in front of Sant'Ilario station.
